October Forum - Tuesday 13th October 2009
The Chief Executive’s Innovation Forum is about showcasing work with a theme of ‘Innovation’ and how it is contributing to patient care. The stimulating presentations are intended to engage staff, explore commercialisation of innovations and promote lively discussions. Previous forums have also resulted in new joint projects being proposed between different groups within SWAHS, their partners and stakeholders. All staff are invited to attend.

Innovation Presentation: Dr Russell Carrington
Topic: 'Technologies being commercialised by the SWAHS Office of Commercialisation'
An overview of the SWAHS Office of Commercialisation, what it does, and a review of the technologies being commercialised including

· Having a Baby – We Speak your Language
Dr Russell Carrington is the current Manager of the Sydney West Area Health Service/BioMed North Office of Commercialisation and is responsible for the Office’s operational aspects. Russell has a background in research and development of cardiomyoplasty and cardiac-ventricular assist devices in a Cooperative Research Centre; and in Project Management for a business and commercial services provider; in addition to 6 years as a Business Development Manager in IP Commercialisation for BioMed North Limited and NSW Area Health Services.
