Roger Allen has had over twenty-five years experience of creating and growing businesses in the Information Technology industry internationally.

In July 1996 he founded Allen & Buckeridge Pty Ltd, a venture capital company to fulfil an important need in Australia to provide risk capital to commercialise R&D and innovative ideas.

Allen & Buckeridge was the first fund in Australia specialising in IT and the Internet with an appetite for start-up and early stage businesses.

Today Allen & Buckeridge has $250m of venture capital under management and has invested in 30 innovative Australian IT businesses. Allen and Buckeridge helps these companies enter the US and other international markets through its office in Silicon Valley.

Previously, he was a successful entrepreneur growing the Computer Power Group from a small Australian business to a truly international group with revenues over $300m, employing 3,000 professionals through 50 offices around the world.

He has been recognised by the local Australian Industry through its highest awards and is well known internationally as a leading figure from the Australian industry. He has served on two Prime Ministers’ Science and Technology Councils and both Victorian and NSW Government Advisory Boards. He was recently Chairman of the NSW Government Advisory Board on IT. He was also deputy Chairman of Austrade for 7 years.

Unusually for a technologist he has degrees in Fine Arts and Philosophy from Melbourne University and is also Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Entrepreneurship at Swinburne University.
